Our Story
Sharing the love of Jesus through feeding a generation.
A small school in Liberia West Africa knows THE TRUTH because of the generous and tireless efforts of Word of Life missionaries David and Lucy Kiamu. This TRUTH will set the people of LIberia FREE.
Our Journey
Through Word of Life Ministries we visit Liberia once a year to put on a free medical clinic. In 2022 the clinic was held at Life Christian Academy, a school that was founded by David and Lucy Kiamu. The school is located in Margibi county in a very rural area of the country.
During this clinic we were introduced to the many students that attend the school. We were impressed with the operations of the school and even more impressed with the evidence that the students were being taught first of all that Jesus died for their sins, rose again, and wants to be their Savior and Lord. We have many brothers and sisters who are attending school in this small country in West Africa.

While screening the students medically it became very apparent that the students had many health deficiencies and that their physical problems became even more evident as they grew older. Nutrition is something that we seldom think about in our part of the world. We learned that many of the students, if they were fortunate enough, would only get one meal a day.

Several of the students would come to the house in the late afternoon, after the clinic, and ask if we could play with them. During our playing, often a soccer game, many of them would get our attention to tell us that they were hungry. We were not suppose to bring food out of the house for them but that was a rule we could not bear to keep. When you realize they are playing with you instead of finding and eating that one meal for the day it will cause you sneak into the house and bring out whatever you can find for them to eat.

Discussions with Lucy about what it would cost to feed the students a meal each day while at school created a desire in us to do something about it. 1 John 3:17 says "But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" Our brothers and sisters don't have enough to eat.

Fishes and Loaves Nutrition Program was founded to give you the opportunity to help our extended Christian family. Healthier children from Life Christian Academy can grow stronger to carry the good news to their families, their neighbors, and hopefully to their beautiful but suffering country.
